Corpus Christi

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi!

This special day is a solemn commemoration of the institution of the Eucharist, a sacrament central to our faith. It's also the Church's official act of homage and heartfelt gratitude to Christ, who, by establishing the Holy Eucharist, gave us our greatest devotion.

As Pope Francis reminded us on the feast of Corpus Christi in 2016, "In breaking bread for his disciples, Christ gave us an example of what it means to allow oneself to be broken for the good of others." It is through the Eucharist that we receive the strength to live out this calling.

May we all be inspired to allow ourselves to be "broken for the good of others," drawing strength from the Eucharist to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
