Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus recalls Christ’s eternal love for us and brings the mystery of the Incarnation close to us.
Jesus loved with a human heart and from the moment of his conception in Mary’s womb, the Savior’s heart was formed, and it beat with a love at once human and divine. In Jesus, we are called to respond to God’s love with our entire being - to love one another as Christ loved.
As John says there is no greater love than the sacrificial love of Christ, to lay down one's life for a friend (John 15:13).
May we have the courage and compassion to love as Jesus loved.
