Did You Know? Evacuation

Welcome back, parents! As we prepare for a safe and successful school year, we want to take a moment each day this week to review our Division's Hour Zero safety protocols. First up: Evacuation.
What it means: An Evacuation protocol is used when it is safer for students and staff to be outside the school building. This might be due to a fire, a gas leak, or a similar hazard inside the school. Our staff will lead students to a designated safe assembly point away from the building.
What it doesn't mean: An Evacuation is not a sign of a larger, external threat. It's a proactive measure to ensure everyone is safe and accounted for, typically in response to an internal issue. Students will be kept together with their teachers at all times.
How you can help: Please ensure your emergency contact information is up to date with the school office. In the event of an Evacuation, please do not come to the school. We will communicate our reunification plan for parents when the time is right.
