Reconciliation is an everyday journey

Today, September 30, marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We pause to honour the Survivors of the residential school system, the children who never returned home, and their families and communities. This solemn day reminds us of the profound and ongoing legacy of trauma and our shared responsibility to the future.

We are proud that schools throughout our Division marked Orange Shirt Day on September 29th, visibly showing that Every Child Matters. The learning, however, does not end there.

Our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is an everyday journey. Let's continue to listen, educate ourselves, and move from reflection to meaningful action to build an equitable and just future rooted in respect and understanding.
