March 31, 2022

Dear Holy Trinity families,

It is our sincere hope that this letter finds you all well. Due to a power outage in the Town of Olds, we have experienced severe mechanical issues, thus impacting the ability to be in our school physically. For this reason, we will have no school on Friday, April 1, 2022 (no, this is not an April Fool’s Day joke). On Monday, April 4th, all students will be online learning. Teachers will contact you tomorrow, April 1, 2022, to inform you what this will look like for your child.

At this time, we are unable to determine how long the repairs will take. We will keep you updated through Swiftreach and social media on when we will return to in-person learning.

There are some important items for your consideration as we move forward to the resolution of these mechanical and electrical issues:

  • The school will be closed.
  • All K-8 teachers will be connecting with their classes and will be beginning online teaching via Google Classroom Monday morning.
  • If any family needs support with Google Classroom or online learning in general, we encourage you to connect with your homeroom teacher.  Teachers will be available by email during regular school hours.
  • If you require a Chromebook for student learning, please email htsinfo@rdcrs.ca prior to 12:00 pm April 1st. It will be available for pickup between 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Friday, April 1.
  • As the school is closed, there will be no paper packages given to students at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We will keep you informed as we continue to progress through this situation.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through email at htsinfo@rdcrs.ca

Our mandate has not changed at Holy Trinity. We will continue to serve your children in the best way we know how.  We are thankful to the Red Deer Catholic Maintenance Department and Olds Electric for their continued collaboration as we resolve these issues.

God bless,

Valerie Norman Jodi Masters
