The Board of Trustees at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools would like to introduce Kathleen Finnigan as Interim Superintendent of Schools.
For the past 34 years, Kathleen Finnigan has been a teacher, school counsellor, Vice-Principal, Principal and Associate Superintendent of Inclusive Learning and Associate Superintendent of Personnel at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools.
Finnigan received a Bachelor of Education in elementary education from the University of Alberta and completed a Master of Arts in leadership and counselling at San Diego State University. She is currently enrolled at Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary, in the Doctor of Education Program with a leadership focus.
Over the years, Finnigan has won many awards including the Women of Excellence (Final Winner – 2016), Canada’s Outstanding Principal (National Winner -2010) and Alberta’s Excellence in Teaching (Semi-Finalist – 2009).
She is also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Deer. She has served as Proclaimer and Eucharistic Minister.
Throughout the years, Kathleen Finnigan has served many roles in our school division and is an outstanding educational leader. She has a history of excellence, collaboration and sustainability to meet the needs of students, parents and staff. With Finnigan, our division will continue to help students be successful and strive for excellence by allowing them to grow physically, academically, socially, morally and spiritually.
In the coming months, the Board of Trustees will be looking at hiring a Superintendent of Schools. More information on this will come available soon.
