Administrative & Staff Changes for 2019-2020 School Year (Pt. 3)

Congratulations to Rob Melenchuk, Selena Frizzley, Lisa Alford, Diane Kulczycki, Stacey Martz, Valerie Norman-Organ and Dana Pikkert on their appointments for the 2019-2020 school year:

Rob Melenchuk, Director of Inclusive Learning

Rob has been with the division for the past 14 years obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta via Medicine Hat College. Rob then went on to pursue a Masters in Educational Leadership through the University of Portland. Rob has experience in rural school settings through his work at École Mother Teresa School, where he taught a variety of subjects from Grades 3 to 9. For the past six years working at St. Francis of Assisi Middle School in the roles of a teacher and an Assistant Principal, he has been involved with Math, Science and Technology. He has received an ASBA Edwin Parr Award and Alberta Education Excellence in Teaching nomination within his career. Rob and his family are members of Sacred Heart Church and have supported this community, as members of the Children's Liturgy Team.

Selena Frizzley: Coordinator, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Support Team

Selena graduated from the University of Alberta majoring in Social Studies with a minor in Environmental Sciences. She received her Masters in Educational Leadership from City University in 2017. Selena has been with our school division since August 28, 2017. Previously she has been at Holy Spirit Regional School Division from 2011-2017, Calgary Catholic School Division from 2000-2011, and with RDCRS from 1998-2000 where she started her vocation of teaching. Selena and her family are parishioners of St. Mary’s Parish. She has led First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation sacramental preparation and is involved in the Children's’ Ministry program at St. Mary’s Parish.

Lisa Alford, Assistant Principal, École Our Lady of the Rosary School

Lisa received a Bachelor of Education degree from Saint Francis Xavier University, has completed the graduate certificate from Newman Theological College and is currently working on the Masters in Religious Education from Newman. Lisa has been with the division for the past 18 years and has recently held the position of Coordinator of Early Learning, Early Learning Lead and Literacy/ESL Lead teacher at Montfort Centre. Lisa and her family are active members of Sacred Heart Parish and provide support to this community through various ministries.

Diane Kulczycki - Vice-Principal, Father Henri Voisin School

After many weeks of reflection, Diane, Principal of Ecole Our Lady of the Rosary School, has made the decision to leave her principalship position and become vice principal at a school in Red Deer. As Diane moves into a vice principal role and teacher she will continue to enhance student-centered learning with more of a hands-on approach. Diane and her husband Terry attend St. Mary’s Church where they have been involved in the RCIA program, as Terry becomes part of our Catholic community. Diane serves as Eucharistic Minister and Proclaimer.

Stacey Martz - Assistant Principal, Maryview School

Stacey has been with the division since 2005 with teaching and learning experiences including teaching within Kindergarten to Grade 9, as well as Inclusive Lead teacher, Literacy co-teacher, relief administrator, school counsellor, and ELL lead and Strategies teacher in the communities of St. Teresa of Avila School and St. Francis of Assisi Middle School. Stacey is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Middle Years Education degree and obtained her Master of Education in Leadership from City University in 2018. Stacey and her family attend St. Mary’s Church where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister.

Valerie Norman-Organ, Assistant Principal, Holy Trinity Catholic School

Val has been a teacher for the past 16 years. Alongside her teaching, Val has been a Learning Coach, Lead Teacher for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Support Team, and school counsellor in various school divisions with her most recent roles supporting the division for the past five years. Val received her Bachelor of Education degree from Yukon University specializing in elementary education, as well as completing several courses from Newman Theological College. Val and her family are a member of St. Stephen's Parish in Olds where she teaches catechism.

Dana Pikkert, Vice-Principal, St. Francis of Assisi Middle School

Dana is a graduate of the University of Alberta Collaborative Program achieving a Bachelor of Education in the Middle Years Program at Red Deer College. Dana recently received a Masters in Education Program from the University of Prince Edward Island with a focus on 21st-century learning. Dana has been with the division for the past 14 years, as both a middle school and elementary teacher in the school communities of St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School and St. Elizabeth Seton School, as well as teacher and Assistant Principal at Father Henri Voisin School. Dana and her family attend St. Mary’s Church where Dana is a Eucharist Minister as well as an instructor in the Children’s Liturgy Program.
